Wonder if anybody remembers Frank James Morgan, a Chief Pattern Maker who served in USS Medusa (AR1), USS Whitney (AD4) at Pearl Harbor & the Solomons campaign, and many other ships. Howdy, Shipmates...Did ya know that this entire organised meyhem is run by ONE man, and with his own funds?...That is except for the amount that we Plankowners contribute?...The Goatlocker is in the midst of our annual "Pledge" canvass...I know that there are a lot of you out there that visit the Deck Log and maybe even the BBS (www.goatlocker.org/wwwboard/index.htm) also...All you Chiefs that utilize the various portions of the Goatlocker please consider contributing, any amount, but $10.00 sounds good for a start to me...If you are in doubt as to how to make your contribution, and cannot figure out how, please give me an e-mail and I'll give you instructions...Also, it seems to me a very good place for the afloat Messes to contribute as a Mess...That way you all are Plankowners for the price of one check and one stamp...Another portion of the Goatlocker that it would seem that is more or less unknown is the Goatlocker Chat Room...You will normally find a number of Chiefs just sitting around, about 2000 Eastern time, 1700 Pacific time, with a cup of hot and bitter and a sea story just waiting for new blood to tell it to...Thinking of retirement?...There is a fund of information, both printed, here on the basic web site, and in the minds of a great number of retired Chiefs available on the BBS...How about post-Navy employment...Greg has posted a goodly amount of information on that subject here on the Goatlocker too...Information that is priceless, since much of it is based on experience hard gained...Again, Chiefs, $10.00 contributed to the Goatlocker to pay the expenses to maintain it in it's fine shape works out to less than three cents a day...Last year, we had over 200 Plankowners and we oldtimers would like to see over 300 this year...Please do your part...thanks, and HAVFND....John

I have been recalled to active duty for Operation Noble Eagle. I am a Kansas State Trooper when not serving this great country. Normally I am attached to a fleet hospital unit; however, when I was activated 26SEP2001 I went to Naval Air Station Kingsville. I was on active duty back from 1986 to 1989 aboard the USS Missouri. Since then I have been a drilling reservist in Wichita, Kansas.
