I'VE TRIED FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS TO LOCATE HIM. THANKS

Comments: Fleet Reserve Transfer date 15 Oct 75. From 25 May 56 until then I served aboard USS Catamount (LSD-17), USS Ticonderoga (CVA/CVS-14), USS Samuel Gompers (AD-37), USS Dixie (AD). Also three years plus training recruits in SDiego and three years in X38 D.A.T.C SDiego. Went to fleet reserve as MMCS. In on the beginning of the 3M system (one of the first F.R.A.M. overhauls aboard Catamount), Resupplied the DEW line in the Arctic, ran relief during Chili's earthquake in the early sixties, Three tours to the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam War, aboard Ticonderoga for her CVA/CVS conversion (just missed a space capsul pick up before the shuttle days), saw the birth of E-8/E-9 pay grades and mandatory Social Security with-holding. It was a good exciting 20 year career. But I am glad to be here and now and enjoying this wonderful site. I've missed that most of all, the Goat Locker, because I've been there, done that.Thank you for the memories.

Looking to aquire at least two UIM's from every submarine that is currently active this year. I plan to assemble a display for the 100th Birthday Ball in April 2000 and then present it to the Training Facility in conjunction with the dedication of "Deterrent Park" memorial along with my other project "Project 41" which is the assemblage of the all of the original 41 FBM submarines ship's patches and UIM's. I currently am missing 9 original ship's patches and 9 UIM's. If you can help with the UIM's from the currently active subs or need to know which FBM ship's patches and UIM's I am still missing and could help, please contact me at MTC-william.ritter@smtp.cnet.navy.mil or at home at ritz@silverlink.net and I will be happy to give you more information. I will attach a note about who the patch/UIM was from and when you served. thanks ritz:

This is great. The ships I served on are: USS Dahlgren, USS Boston CAG-1, USS Faragut, USS Dale, USS worden, and USS Mt. Whitney. I proudly served for 21 years, and still work for the Navy via Lockheed Martin's Fallon Electronic Warfare Range, a part of NASF. We trained aviators for the raid on Lybia, and for Desert Storm. It's a good job, and a live time video game too. The best part, is the fact that I live and work in a military environment, training my brothers and sisters to survive during live hostile situations.

I retired in Dec 1994. My late duty station was Brunswick ME and you guessed it, with the P-3 community. I did'nt know what a P-3 was until until I got their. The first thing I ask was WHERE IS THE TAIL HOOK. Before that I was in Gitmo Cuba as NAS Weapons Officer. Before that in 1986 I was a (please belive me I didn't what to go)Recruiter in Moberly, Missouri. Before that in backward order, USS Independence, USS Coral Sea, Nas Fallon NV.
