After completing Submarine school my first boat was the USS GRENADIAR (SS 525) IN Key West, Fla From there I was transfered to USS VON Steuben (SSBN 632) for two patrols. Then a tour of shore duty at Naval Station, Great Lakes IL. After this tour was completed I transfered to USS TAUTOG (639) in Pearl Harbor. When the tour was completed on TAUTOG I got out for awhile to try civilain life(mistake), I lasted 1 year and was back in the Navy on my way to Norfolk, VA to the USS MEMPHIS (SSN 691). I served a tour at CSS 6 staff as the Squardon Career Counselor I then transfered to USS BALTIMORE (SSN 704) as the Chief of the Boat in Aug 88. When I completed my tour on Baltimore I transfered to Submarine Training Faculity Norfolk VA as the Engineering Dept LPO, where I retired in Apr 1993. |
