Vallejo (SSBN 658) and USS Vincennes (CG 49). The Submarine and Surface assignments are a result of our down-sizing. Our USN went from several SSBN Submarines to just 18, therefor there were way too many Missile Technicians around. This allowed me to convert to Navy Counselor and I made Chief Petty Officer shortly after my conversion. I am currently stationed in San Diego, CA at the Fleet Training Center where I teach other Command Career Counselor's the trick of the trade. Good job on the homepage.....ET |

Name: NCC Bill Poplett Comments: What you say there Master?! Glad to get your post, went and checked your sight well. Nice work. I'm in process of doing up a web site that be more to what I'd like to post. As you could tell I don't have a lot going with the other. I'd posted that for the benefit of the "lung" group I belong to and for others who want to know about the lung disease we have. I'm also putting together a web site for all the Alpha Vets who have lung disease and served in the service. I retired in 88 as a NCC (had to pass on the NCCS due to medical/LOS discharge). Even though I was a NCC I was doing everything else, i.e. Standing bridge and CIC watches, DCTT team member, Gunnery, CPO in charge of Refueling Station, etc. you know how it goes. However, I just got the 60% disability raised to 100% since I can"t work anymore plus going for transplant evaluation the 4-7th of August, then back for two more tests the 12th. If all goes well I'll go in for a Class B overhaul sometime within the next year. By the way, my cousin retired as a MMCM(SS) and now up north someplace in CT or MA area. Well, I'd best get couple things done, talk with you later over some coffee at the Mess. |
