To even further keep entries secure from SPAM I have added a "2" after every @ symbol in each email address. So if you go to email someone remove the "2" from the address.

Comments: I enlisted in 1951, Became an AO, 1956 went through the Aviation change a rate program and became an AQ 2, spent the rest of my career in Tail Hook Navy, Made CPO in 1969. In 1970 finally went to shore duty as a NAMTD Instructor retiring in 1973. I then became a law enforcement officer and retired from that line of work in 1996. I had 22.5 yrs. Navy, 22.5 yrs Law Enf. plus 17 yrs as a civilian before joining the Navy so I started drawing my Soc. Sec. also. Its been a good life and I have enjoyed every bit of it. If I was 17 again I would do it all over again.

Oh, by the way, for those who are asking, an old English legend: They say that an old salt who is tired of seagoing should walk inland with an oar over his shoulder. When he comes to avillage deep in the country and the people ask him what he is carrying... he will know that he's found Fiddlers Green. The people give him a seat in the sun outside the Village Inn with a glass of grog that refills itself every time he drains the last drop and a pipe forever smoking with fragrant tobacco. From then onwards he has nothing to do but enjoy his glass and pipe and watch the maidens dancing to the music of a fiddle on Fiddlers Green.

Comments: I recently attended CPO leadership school. At the beginning of the class we were tasked with introductions, and to state one concern about the NAVY. When my turned rolled around, I introduced myself, and then I voiced my concern, which is.... What I call "Generation Next" or the "Me Generation". You know the ones I am talkingabout. The kids that are coming in the NAVY right now with thevideo game and Internet upbringing, which has made them lazy. The ones with the "all about me attitude" or what can you do for me, or they want something for nothing... The ones who are afraid of work and long hours and who really do notexpect to get underway on a ship and fight a war if they have to. Now for the scary part.. in 10-15 years, THEY WILL BE RUNNING THINGS!!!!! Think about it....

We beleive Honor, courage and commitment, they are our core values. Out here its all about the profit margin. The one thing that has helped me tokeep my bearings is to remember that I will always be a Chief. They can't take that away.

Comments: I had the pleasure of serving in the U.S. Navy from March 1972 to December 1995. I retired as a Yeoman Chief. The tours I loved the most were the two battalion tours with the Seabees and the tour as a Recruit Company Commander in San Diego. People ask me if I miss the Navy. I don't. When my time was done I knew it. I have left and never looked back except with fond memories. I domiss of my shipmates. I have been to this site several occasions and never filled out the log book. I hope by doing this I will hear from my old shipmates.

Comments: Do any of you happen to remember and can tell me any information on an AVCM Carlos "Buzz" Dorsey? One of my employees is his daughter, and as usual in the Navy, there was a divorce and loss of communication. He since passed on and his new spouse gave no information or remembrance of him to the original family. The VA is worthless since she does not have any SSN, and Bupers will not help anyone who is retired. I still can't believe they have no way of looking up a retired Master Chief. Anyway, thoughts would be helpful. I may make a makeshift shadow box if I can get the awards, details, etc.His dates of service would have ended about 86 or so from what she knows. He is on the logs of the Navy Memorial. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
